It’s too cold to blog! Or e-mail…or comment on other people’s blogs or, in short, to have any sort of online presence whatsoever. My computer is in the basement, and even with the heat on, the basement is seriously chilly. And I’m not the type who normally shuts down in the cold. I’m the shuns the sun would’ve been a goth-girl in high school if I’d had enough black clothes type.
Seriously, I’m not exaggerating. I’ve been down here for ten minutes and I’m already starting to lose feeling in my fingertips.
Neil bought us a ceramic heater for the basement but it only heats up the about one square foot of our rec room. I’m thinking about putting it on top of my desk so I have some hope of thawing my fingers…and my creativity.
The only other option is to borrow Neil’s laptop. It’s the one thing he hates to share, so for the sake of his sanity I’d have to sneak around a bit. I can rationalize that, right?
For those of you withering away without the sunlight of my smile, etc…my humblest apologies. And please, pray for an early spring!

Can you not plug in an electric heater down there? I’m sorry you are so cold!
A bit of advice….heat rises. So, if you put the heater up, above your head, you may not get the effect you desire. Maybe you can put it at your feet and then thaw the rest as the heat asends? :)
*by the way, thanks for visiting my blog! I love, love, love comments and meeting new people (as long as it does not require a real conversation…just kidding!) :)
*SENDING WARM HUGS* Hope you thaw out soon! :)
I have been missing you and wondering where you have been. Thanks for popping on to update us! I hope you get something figured out so you’re not so cold, ’cause it will be a dark and dreary winter without you. :-(
You need a shopping trip to Kamloops!! Then you could go to Costco and get one of those parabolic heaters they have. Honestly, I was there yesterday and HOLY CRAP. The thing was heating the entire ’causeway’ that lead to the book section. I decided right then and there that if I ever needed a heater, that would be the one simply because of the sheer quantity of space it heats up.
What you need is an electric blanket. With sections for your hands and head too — but little spots for your fingers to poke out so you can still type. A super warm electric body suit. Let me know when you find one because I want one too.
Oh you poor little icicle! I used to have a computer in the basement too and I froze. Definitely do the electric blanket thing. Do you need me to send you mine?
Hey, put it at your feet, wrap a blanket around yourself, bring a hotpad to tuck your fingers into while you read ;) Then we won’t miss you so much!
Awww…I am so feelin’ the love gals!
I’m going to work out tonight and then dash downstairs and get caught up while I cool off! ~lol~
That’s a great idea to keep warm! We should have stationary bikes in front of our computers and the computers only work as long as we’re pedaling. Someone could make a million dollars off that idea I’m sure!
