Why on earth?!

…am I still awake? It’s past midnight, we’re going to church in the morning, I have a nasty headache, and I’m typing away on the computer. And not productive typing like catching up on my huuuuge backlog of unanswered e-mails, etc…but just punking around not doing anything terribly important.

I feel this great desire to understand myself, and I’m always frustrated when I come across a doozy like this.

Anyway, holidays have been the usual extreme bouts of high and low, and I’m quite worn out and ecstatic to have convinced Neil to drive home a day early so we can enjoy a day at home before he goes back to work. So come the New Year I am going home! Yay!

I don’t have anything really profound to say other than that. I’m going home! More on my many travel related neuroses, obsessive compulsive disorder, what happens when you go off your meds abruptly, and the absolute bliss that comes with being spoiled by your sweetheart…next year! I know it’s so cheesy to capitalize on New Year’s humour like that, but it’s impossible for someone as corny as me to resist.

Holidays for me, too, have a lot of highs and lows. There are too many family dynamics and there is always way too much drama. It is made even worse since I live so far away from home – I am not used to all of the over-stimulation I get. But despite all that, I still like to get together and visit.

Enjoy your extra day at home. You will probably be very grateful that you took it :) !!

I can’t wait to hear all about it!

Sometimes I find myself staring at my computer screen late at night and wonder how long I’ve been sitting like that. I have to shake myself back to reality and force myself to go to bed!

    Hi, Kim!

I, too, enjoy having at least one or two days at home with just my family before real life settles back in again. We’re doing that, too. :-)

Sorry it took so long to read your latest blog post; I mean, you wrote it in 2006, I’m reading it in 2007 … (hahahahaha!) ;-)

Just had to say that I love your use of “punking” as a verb. Nice invention.
