Alas, dear friends, my brain is mush today. A combination of fatigue and phlegm. However, as I lay here bemoaning my congested state, I cannot help but feel obligated to you, my adoring fans. Despite the fact that I am currently struggling for breath, I am typing through the pain lest you wither away without me.
More pictures today, as I noticed with some delight last night that I’d dressed the girls in identical pajamas (and hey, I’m not feeling too[...]

Well gals, I’ve shared some pretty personal stuff over the last several months, but this one is going to be hard to top. I’m finally going to show you one of my square dancing outfits. I know, I know, you’ve been greedily anticipating the day when I would completely lose it and finally show off what a “square” (ha ha) I am, and now, it arrives with no coercion or torture being involved.
So why am I showing you?
1) I’m a[...]

Okay, so the title isn’t really all that applicable, but I just love ripping off movie titles and twisting them around into post titles. My girls are sleeping and therefore, I am blogging.
I had to share these cute pictures of Emma “helping” me yesterday. The best bit was that she was singing a Cinderella song while she did it.
Next time she spills strawberries on my floor, I might just have her do this: But since she only[...]

I’ve spent a lot of time the last few weeks, pondering about my blogging life versus my life outside the view of the computer screen. Some of the other beautiful blogging babes I’ve come to know and love have shared their reflections on the same topic.
I had a moment of clarity this morning which both amazed and humbled me. I was watching my girls play this morning, smiling that contented smile that mothers around the world adorn themselves with[...]

One of my favouritest bloggers in the bloggisphere, the oh so fabulous Lady Elastic, gave me the above award, out of the kindness of her stretchy heart.
And I’m not just saying all that stuff because she gave me my first ever blogging award.
Really. I’m not.
So the idea is to “Pay it Forward” to five other bloggers who are at least as wowingly wonderful as me. Hard to find any, yes, but a few sprung to mind.
Julie at Mental Tesserae[...]

When I finally scrubbed the sleep out of my eyes this morning and stumbled bleary eyed into the kitchen, I was greeted with quite a sight. Small chunks of strawberry and splatters of strawberry juice bedecked my white kitchen.
I just about cried.
It was a rough night last night. My cousin and his wife are visiting us for a long weekend stretch, and much as I love them, they’re best taken in small doses. I was already a bit frazzled when[...]

When Emma woke from her nap yesterday, we cuddled on the couch. Cheek to cheek we giggled and exchanged eskimo kisses.
The light skiff of snow that had fallen earlier in the day had been washed away by a rainfall quickly turned to hail, and as we gazed out the window, there was a suden flurry of feathered activity. Dozens of robins alit in our yard! The sight seemed incongruous to me. Bright chested robins scratching about in our scrubby[...]

Disclaimer: I’m peculiarly proud of my self-proclaimed title of “freak”. This is by no means a derogatory word in my oh so humble estimation. I shall be adding to this list as the day goes by. Feel free to suggest other of my charmingly freakish qualities for consideration.
…hang all your shirts, even your t-shirts, to minimize how much you have to fold.…often toss out your grungy dishcloths because you can’t bear to put something so gross into the wash with[...]

You know how some people keep a box of baking soda in the fridge to help keep it smelling fresh? Yeah, not as great an idea as it sounds. On the other hand, a good clean out was long past overdue. I’m trying to laugh. I’m trying very, very, very hard. Stay tuned for the “after” pictures.
Oh, and would you believe that my dear sweet Emma didn’t have one single speck on her? Hopefully this is a talent that will[...]

Before I start telling you about our weekend jaunt off to Minneapolis, let it be said that I had fun and I’m really glad we went.
However…things didn’t go quite as I expected. Not even a little bit, to be honest. I’d anticipated an incredibly liberating experience – traveling without the kids! Bliss, right?
Not so much.
I spent the entire trip feeling horribly heartsick. The list of parents I freaked out by staring longingly at their children grew[...]
