I Think Therefore I Blog

by Kym on March 26, 2007

One of my favouritest bloggers in the bloggisphere, the oh so fabulous Lady Elastic, gave me the above award, out of the kindness of her stretchy heart.

And I’m not just saying all that stuff because she gave me my first ever blogging award.

Really. I’m not.

So the idea is to “Pay it Forward” to five other bloggers who are at least as wowingly wonderful as me. Hard to find any, yes, but a few sprung to mind.

Julie at Mental Tesserae was the first I thought of, but Lady Elastic already dubbed her a Thinking Thinker. Still, she tops my list of blog writers who make me think.

I opened up my bloglines window and started pondering the list of blogs I have there (currently 36 feeds – oi!).

Topping the list alphabetically is An Ordinary Mom. Okay, I have to say that it just kills me I once lived a short distance from her, but alas that was during my pre-blogging days (i.e. the dark age). She is fabulous in so many ways. Not only is she intelligent and articulate, but she has a sweet, generous heart.

Next is Catherine at Everyday Life as Lyric Poetry. This is a gem of a blog that I discovered through the Ultimate Blog Party. Her posts never fail to make me smile. She expresses her thoughts beautifully, and her ponderings about life and parenthood always uplift me.

Inkling at Imaginative Musings has chosen a blog title that suits her admirably. She constantly amazes me with her deep musings, her incredibly ability to express thoughts that I can barely wrap my head around. She creates in me a desire to study and learn.

Lara, The Lazy Organizer, was an obvious choice for me. There’s no other blog I read that I get more excited about and inspired by. She makes me think I can be a better person, and she helps me to believe it. I can’t think of any other thought I need provoked in me more!

The best for last? Certainly one of my best friends, DeDee at The Quiltmaker’s Gift. She’s very new to blogging, but already she’s written posts that have captivated my attention and left me thinking of them hours and even days later. No bias involved here. Really.

I feel like I’ve got to end off by giving a cheesy acceptance speech of some sort, but really, all I want to say is Thanks.

Note: The five gals mentioned above need only click on the link of this post for details about their shiny new award.

Well, I obviously did not deserve that “Thinking Blogger award” that Elastic so graciously bestowed me, because I did know I was supposed to do what you and she did, write about 5 bloggers who make you think.
In fact, I am so clueless I thought she was just mentioning me, not actually giving me an award. Boo hoo, I am not worthy.

Off to check your links.

You are too kind! I feel honored and flattered to be mentioned among so many talented people … seriously!

And we will meet, soon I hope. Let me know when you will be in the area!

I hope your day and week is looking brighter.

Congratulations! I’m new around here, but I can already see that this award was well-deserved.

P.S. Thanks so much for your comment on my Sunday Scribblings post. Everyone should have such a warm fuzzy for a Monday morning :)

Yay for being Haley Joel for the day! Except for his role in Sixth Sense. I, for one, do not want to see dead people.

I’ll have to come back and look through your award winning thinkie linkies.

Congrats for your award! I don’t think I will ever win a thinking blogger award lol, unless it’s for “Most lacking in thought” :D

Congratulations on your award. Very fun, and very thoughtful. Thank you too, for mentioning me. That was a fun surprise to read this morning, and quite the last thing I expected. It’s been such a blessing to find your blog, to “meet” a fellow BC blogger, and to look forward to one day getting to meet in the real world. In the meantime, keep on writing those posts that make us think, laugh, be inspired, and simply have a brighter day. You have our appreciation for sure. =)

Thanks Kimmy! You are going to think this is weird but I was sitting in a presentation tonight and thinking you should have been there with me. Am I nuts? I just thought you should know how much I want to adopt you!

Nadine – Thank you!
Chick – Means so much comin’ from someone as awesome as you!
Catherine – It definitely takes some thought, doesn’t it? And you deserve it in so many ways!
Lara – Okay, you just made my day with that comment. You’re definitely nuts, but that’s what I love most about you! Besides, I think of you whenever I organize something, don’t I?
