Pajama Day

Now, you might think the title of this post calls for an exclamation mark or two, but sadly, our Pajama day is not a cause for joy. We are sick. The kind of sick that doesn’t call for details, if you know what I mean.

It’s hit poor Becca the hardest. She hardly ate a thing last night, even her favourites didn’t tempt her, and she slept fourteen hours. Four…teen…hours. And it would’ve been longer if Emma hadn’t suddenly burst through her door shouting “Gecka! Gecka!! Morrrrniiiing!”

I’m going to dispense with my usual whingeing and whining though, and try to look at the proverbial bright side. I used to try for as much attention as possible by languishing around the house looking pathetic. I’d even put on makeup but purposely leave off the blush so I’d look more sickly and get more pity. Yup. It’s sad, I know.

I’m trying a different tack now though; the noble sufferer. The benefits are amazing. Pity and respect. I could get to like this. It means getting off my duff and getting my work done, but it’s worth it. Not only did I earn Neil’s respect yesterday, I earned my own as well. Self-respect is such a lovely feeling to cherish at the end of one’s day.

Another lovely feeling is lolling about in pajamas all day. It’s odd. If I wear my PJ’s all day normally, I feel crummy and sluggish. But when I’m sick? There’s something decadent about the experience. I’m tempted to pull out the Sears catalogue and peruse the “Lounge Wear” section.

I think it’s time I got up and put on a bra though. Many rules go out the window on a sick day, but sadly, the law of gravitiy isn’t negotiable.

I hope everyone starts to feel better soon. After all, you have a trip to plan :) !!

Law of gravity? Unless you are like me and you are not well endowed enough to care about gravity! I go braless at home nearly 95% of the time. Hee-hee!

Beth – Made me giggle too. Glad I’m not the only one, nothing more awkward than being the only one to laugh at your own joke. Well, I guess there are a -few- more awkward things…oh dear, where are the brakes for my imagination??
    Lucy – Alas, I’m over-endowed. We’re talking a can’t-wear-button-up-shirts-usually sort of problem. Bleh! ~lol~

Get well soon! Being sick is not fun, except wearing pajamas all day without guilt IS a nice perk.

Way to be noble and earn that ever-elusive self-respect.(It feels so much better than guilt.) Hope you’re feeling better.

Staying in your PJs when you’re sick is the best. There’s just something so comforting about the scene.

I hope you feel (and the “girls”) feel better soon!

Sorry ya’ll are feeling yucky. I relish the days when I can be in my PJ’s all live long day. You’ve made the right decision about your bra. I wear mine to bed nearly every night. Gravity is not a friend.

Burg – Up to 98% today. Whoohoo!
Gerbil – I need me some new pants.
Inkling – Alas, I feel better today. No more pajamas. ~sigh~ =)
    Jennifer – It’s the best, isn’t it?
NCS – Too weird, isn’t it?
Grateful – Wish it had been a joke!
Compulsive – Her do’s and don’t’s are contagious, aren’t they?
Thea – A wee bit sleep deprived, but otherwise great. I’m having me a nap pretty soon. Thanks!
Caronnin – It’s not worth the back ache to go free and easy, is it? I often wear mine to bed too.
PJ – Hee hee..chuckling about PJ posting about PJ’s. I am so easily amused.
Amber – I’m sure they’ll find a cure for it some day. =P
