It’s been awhile since I last did a Meme, and lacking inspiration today, I happily snapped up this one from my good friend Beth.
Two names you go by:
1. Mommy
2. Sweetie
Two things you are wearing right now:
1. My new pair of Gap (gasp) jeans – size 12! Size 12, people! And yes, I can breathe. However, permanent abdominal damage is a possibility.
2. The necklace and earring set my girls got me for Mother’s Day.
Two things you want in a relationship:
1. The ability to babble almost incessantly and still have a friend at the end of the conversation.
2. Someone I can be silly with.
Two of your favorite things to do:
1. Curl up in bed with an enthrallingly absorbing book.
2. Cuddle with my sweetheart.
Two things you want very badly at the moment:
1. To lose weight. Well, girth is what I’m most concerned with, actually.
2. To think of something I can make for dinner with little or no effort.
Two pets you had/have:
1. Neil and I find two little girls enough work without adding pets to the mix. But I grew up with cats. FuFu (my brother named her – I never asked). And Corky.
2. Actually, Neil and I did have fish and newts before we had kids. Less work, but smellier.
Two people who will fill this out:
My usually astounding prescient powers have failed me.
Two things you did last night:
1. Ignored the dishes.
2. Read a good book and ate chocolate.
Two things you ate today:
1. Cheddar Sun Chips.
2. Half a Banana.
Two people you last talked to:
1. My new gal pal Trina. Whose name I really need to learn how to spell.
2. Neil.
Two things you’re doing tomorrow:
1. Going garage sale-ing! Whoohoo!
2. Attending a Silent Auction to help a local boy (three years old) whose been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. His family needs a lot of financial support, and this awesome community of ours has been rallying around them. Neil and I are looking forward to chipping in, now that we’re finally at a stage in our life where we’re…umm…chippable?
Two longest car rides:
1. Kelowna to Calgary. Before Neil and I were even engaged, he drove me out to Calgary to meet his Mom, Grandma, Aunts and Cousins. I was incredibly shy back then, and spent the entire visit in a state of permanent blush.
2. Forest Grove, Oregon (where Neil went to school for four years) to Vancouver, British Columbia (where my parents live). We made this trip soooo many times. For every family function, doctor’s visit, and the birth of both girls.
Two favorite holidays:
1. Christmas!
2. Halloween. Because I love candy corn and seeing the little kids’ costumes.
Two favorite beverages:
1. Raspberry Grape Sparkling juice.
2. Water.

“The ability to babble almost incessantly and still have a friend at the end of the conversation.”
Oh yes, this is so me as well. But then again, so is the permanent blushing thing (although I don’t physically redden–it’s more of an internal blushing).
So, do ya think if we ever met we’d simultaneously babble or blush? Or would we strategically alternate between the two and thereby arrive at a semi-normal conversation?
I liked how you put that, too — “ability to babble almost incessantly and still have a friend at the end of the conversation.” That described what I was trying to say, back over at my answer to that question. :-)
This was fun to read!
Well I was going to comment on your “ability to babble almost incessantly” line, but apparently that has already been done. Twice.
Good books, being called mommy, desiring cats but having toddlers, being an ex-fish owner, eating chocolate, cuddling with my DH, loving water, thinking of an easy yet yummy dinner and shedding a few pounds are all things I can relate to.
I do like Sparkling Apple-Grape Martinelli’s.
that was my favorite line, too! :) fun post, kathleen
Did you find anything wonderful at the garage sales?
Here’s one of my current favorite little to no effort dinners:
BBQ Beef Sandwiches
3 lb roast
steak rub
bbq sauce (I usually use homemade, but bottled requires even less effort)
hamburger buns
Rub the outside of the roast with steak rub or even just kosher salt and pepper. Place in crockpot and add water to about half way up the side of the roast, maybe less. Turn it on and let it go (4-8 hours depending on what setting you cook it on.) When the meat pulls apart easily, drain the water off, shred the beef with two big forks, add the amount of bbq sauce that looks good to you, and let sit in crockpot on low another half hour or so to blend the flavors. Serve like sloppy joes (only better) with baby carrots and chips and maybe a potato or pasta salad from the grocery deli. How easy is that?
Hey… uh… you need to eat more. :-)
This was a lot of fun to read, as usual!
Ooh Garage sailing! I wanted to do this today, but alas, it’s tool late now.
“…spent the entire visit in a state of permanent blush” I don’t know why, but I found this hilarious.
This was a fun one. Congrats on your jeans =)
Ignoring the dishes, eating chocolate and reading a good book–some of my favorite things!
what are newts? and mmmmmmmm, raspberry grape juice!
Do you ever eat your candy corns with peanuts? That is the only way I will choke down the tri-colored candy of wax and sugar death, is with some peanuts.
I have hidden the jellybeans you sent me in my desk drawer. The longer I blog, the more jellybeans I eat. I gotta get outta here.
Ignoring dishes, eating chocolate and reading a good book…sounds like my kind of evening ;)
that is so sweet of you to chip in and help that little boy. i wish paul and i were chippable.
and i love sun chips!
