I wrote this poem when I was seven. Burgeoning genius here, don’t you think?
A Rainy Day:
The rain is falling very quick
It couldn’t be much quicker
I should have brought my hat along
I should have brought my slicker
My hair is wet
My clothes are wet
I couldn’t be much wetter
I fell into a river once
But this is even better!
What I wouldn’t have given for a little rain today. Perhaps it’s just as well, because in my heat induced delirium, I may well have given into the temptation to strip down and dance joyfully around our yard. Although considering our neighbours on one side are an old retired couple, and on the other a gay couple, it may not be such a bad idea at that.

I am very impressed with your poetic skills. Even as a 7 year old you were positively brilliant :) !!
I hope you cool off soon! Before we know it summer will be gone … I am not looking forward to that yet.

You ARE a genius poet. I am very impressed. For a seven year old (and for many adults these days) it is a positively brilliant poem!

I think that if you set that to a trippin beat or maybe sample ‘It’s Raining Men’ you’ve got a solid top 40 hit. It beats most of the incoherent rap ramblings I hear these days.
It’s raining here too. We’re in a one story. All our neighbors have two story houses. He who live in small house must not revel naked in the rain.
