Why I’m Happy to Be Home…

And so, life returns to nowhere near normal. Neil has gone back to work, and I’m left with a mountain of laundry, a week’s worth of housework, and, as pictured above, two very happy little girls.

Our hot water tank went kapoof last night, I’ve put on two pounds because for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to bring Neil home some fudge, and I’ve just had my knee x-rayed to find out if the small lump on my kneecap is scar tissue or a shard of bone from a nasty spill I took last month.

And you know what? I don’t feel the least bit sorry for myself.

Not even a little bit.

Because I just had a fabulous vacation. And I feel so loved by my three sweethearts. Because my Mom is getting so much better, and I got to have a wonderful chat with her this morning. I have a nice big house, and we just painted the first room in it (and it looks amazing!). My knee only hurts when something bangs into it, so I’m not having to limp and hobble around like a little old woman or anything.

And frankly, it could be so much worse. I have so many dear friends for whom it is worse. I bounce between feeling lucky and feeling guilty.

I’m going to go for the former though, because today, I decided to be happy.

    Sorry about your knee!!

I’m glad things are going well. Attitude really can be everything, can’t it??

I know how you feel about being guilty for feeling good, though. When I was pregnant with #2, my friends all had a rough time and I felt great up to the last few weeks, when NO ONE feels good. I felt bad telling them that I felt good when they felt so crummy!

Have fun with all that laundry!

I like the new layout. Really nice.

I took a tumble down my stairs a while back and ended up, a few weeks later, with a knee which didn’t want to work. Went to the doctor, he said I tore my muniscus (surely not spelled right, if I even remember the term correctly) and recommended me to see an orthopedist.

That was all it took. The next day the knee was back to normal and hasn’t bothered me since.

Go figure. The power of the copay!

**There she goes again, changing her look. She ought to change her blog title to “Blogskins” or “Addicted th Change” or “It’s Less Threatening Than Changing My Hair But Almost As Fun” or something like that.**

Oh, adorable pics, btw! I love those days that I’m feeling so good I almost feel guilty about it. Carry on!
