…instead of writing a brilliant blog post.
Went to church.
Packed up Halloween stuff and unpacked Christmas stuff.
Decorated the house.
Reorganized the basement.
Cleaned out Becca’s closet.
Pulled out and packed up all the girls’ “too small” clothes.
Cleaned the kitchen.
Messed up the kitchen – while making yummy ginger snaps.
Reorganized the mud room.
Wrote a chapter of my novel.
Folded four loads of laundry.
Felt guilty about that whole keeping the Sabbath Day holy thing.

Haha, I stopped when I saw “wrote a chapter of my novel” and had to go see if it was posted yet :D Don’t worry, my sabbath is normally spent cleaning and/or traveling.
If I could just get to the novel thing, I could live with myself.
(That’s what’s kicking around in my mind. I want to write about fictional characters right now, not cards…)
Take care and rest well.
Some Sundays are like that. Heck, most Sundays are like that, who am I kidding…
Sounds like you had a very productive day! Though the whole guilt thing . . . that’s counter-productive hun . . . but I know you already know that! :)
yum…ginger snaps.
i think your brain wanted you to clear out some space because that thing you’re writing is so dang good it’s not easily contained.
no guilt in that. good job brain, keep truckin!
*hugs*
If it’s any consolation, you DID go to Church, and that’s one step up on me. We are sick, so no Church for us. It sure doesn’t feel like Sunday when you don’t go to Church.
Also, I am glad you got some things accomplished, because your last post had me worried with the workload you were taking on. (And sitting around and stewing about all the things you have to do on Monday isn’t a good way to keep the Sabbath holy, either!) ;-)
But anyway, keeping the Sabbath Day holy does not equate to NOT doing things on the Sabbath. You probably realized that already, since your kids are older than mine, but yeah — we try to make it a *different* day, but that usually means MORE work for me as a mommy since I can’t just turn on the TV for my three-year-old while I accomplish the daily tasks of life (’cause I don’t feel like having a huge pile of dishes in the sink brings the Spirit, either!).
I think keeping the Sabbath is more about HOW you do the things you’re doing than WHAT you’re doing (within reason, of course).
(Eek… Hoping all that comes off as support and not a sermon. That’s my intention. *hugs*)
Also, I like lists-for-blog-posts, so you have a fine one, despite what you say. ;-)
(And I need to repent for being behind on your novel. I am lame for not being able to even READ that many words in a month!)
Oh gosh Kimberly! I love ya! Sunday is the perfect day for getting all that extra stuff done that you didn’t get done on Saturday. Guilty here as well.
Sounds like you had a really productive day,and even if you didn’t do exactly what you started out to do you should be proud of yourself. It sounds like you worked your tail off.
I’m catching up on my blog reading and putting out a blanket apology for falling so far behind. But I’m up to date now!!
Productivity is a GOOD thing.
And I’m pretty sure God still loves you no matter what :).
You know what, if I totally kept the Sabbath day holy, my house would be such a disaster on Monday, I’d never be able to dig out from under it. I usually run two loads of laundry and at least one of dishes just in an attempt not to get caught in the avalanche.
Wow, Kimberly, you did all of that AND wrote a chapter?
I salute you, Superwoman/ Supermom ….
Yours, in admiration.
David
I love days where I feel like I accomplished a lot!
You did so much! I am supremely impressed! Especially since all of our bags are still packed from our trip and laying in the hall…
I think all you did was awesome!
You just make me laugh. My day was so similar(except I’m in editing mode, not writing mode . . . sigh, I like writing better than editing). Went to church and came home and got busy. I didn’t even feel guilty until I read that you did and then thought, “Oh yeah . . .I am supposed to be keeping the Sabbath day holy.” Man! There is a space at the hot place with my name on it.
Your list of tasks was a brilliant post, silly girl!
Personally, I think ginger snaps should have been served at the last supper.
You can repent next week.
I’m so glad you loved the book as much as I did. It is something else, isn’t it? Didn’t you feel connected to those two women like sisters in another land? Thanks for trusting my word, Kim! I ordered his first book, The Kite Runner. I’ve heard great things.
That whole Sabbath Day thing is really tricky for me, too. Mostly I try to spend quality time with my family and call it good.
Love the ginger snaps idea!!
Sounds like you have my to-do list! Can you come to my house next?
Hope your party went well today.
Wow, you are a cleaning/organizing machine. Go girl!!
Well now I am so tired, Icant do my own…
I am tellin the hubby its your fault. THink he’ll buy it(YOU can use me anytime!)
;)
Rock on girl!
Hahahaha. The last line killed me.
And, um, I have an awful lot of stuff that needs to be cleaned. Could you stop on by? You would come on a Saturday, instead of Sunday, if that would make you feel less guilty…
Ummm…now I feel like a shlump! Note to self…take more vitamins.
If cleanliness is next to Godliness, then you WERE keeping the sabbath Holy… right?
