Soap Opera Sunday – The Ongoing Saga

Today’s post is a continuation of the ever expanding Orchard Boy series. When last we touched base with the Orchard Boy cast, Kim and Neil (aka Orchard boy) had just tied the knot in the beautiful Seattle Temple. The following night they…right…let’s say we, because I’m not going to pull off a third person post while miserably sick, we arrived at the church where the reception was being held. Neil’s Dad met us at the door and chatted us up while last minute preparations were under way.
Don’t you just love the expression on my face?
When we walked into the church gymnasium it was like entering another world. Swaths of ivory fabric stretched from wall to wall, intertwined with ivy and little white lights. It was fairy tale like. I went from cloud nine to cloud seventeen in a matter of seconds. I really did feel like I was floating.
Maybe the dress was cutting off my circulation. Hmmm.
These fellows kept us all well entertained during the course of the evening. I was able to entice them into the role with the offer of free food. My favourite bit was when they sang an overly exaggerated version of “The Rose”, which cracked me up something fierce.
Something else which cracked me up? Neil tickling me during the cake cutting so I’d smile properly.
The first dance. Our song is “These are the Moments”, sung by Edwin McCain. Neil serenaded me as we danced, and my Dad pulled the cord which let the balloons drop as we twirled.
Unbeknownst to me, my bridesmaids had concocted a surprise for us. I laughed so hard, and Neil proudly wore it for the rest of the evening.
And since rice is just nasty to have to clean up, we were sent off in a cloud of bubbles.
Tune in next week (oh yes, there’s more, a whole other reception, in fact), for the story behind this picture:
Head on over to Musings from a Muse, this week’s Soap Opera Sunday host for more lovely soapiness.

Kim, I love that first pic. It looks like you’re saying, “Talk to the bouquet.”
And your photos are just gorgeous. You look stunning, and Neil looks very handsome, even in his cape.
I love the bubbles idea too. That is soooo pretty.

Awww…I like the picture where you are attacking the Orchard Boy. How did the photographer catch that moment?

I do love looking at wedding pictures. You both look so happy!
I’m glad you’re feeling a little better and CONGRATS on the chalet house. Think how much easier it will be dealing with the driveway of doom knowing that this is the LAST time you’ll have to.
Woo hoo!!

I love this story. I can never wait for the next piece!
I understand the pity party may be making a re-appearance. Forget the christmas cards and everything else that is no essential! Seriously.
Hope you’re feeling better.

Loving those pictures! That cape is something else! Really awesome that he actually wore it!
My wedding colors were green, white and silver. We had white lights everywhere and some greenery too! It looks so celestial with the lights.
