And the Winner is…
by Kym on September 2, 2008
…Sarah of Scribblous, one of the most fabulous writers I’ve encountered in my blogging experience and of those fabulous writers, one of the best kept secrets. Pop on over and say hi. But only if you can keep the bitterness and envy under control, please.
Yes, Sarah wins a copy of the much coveted, much lauded “Is it Arrogant to Quote Yourself?” I’ll be autographing it of course, which I’m certain will increase its value exponentially. Which will be of great comfort I’m sure to the illustrious Jo Beaufoix who has the dubious honour of being the only one other than my mum to buy the darn thing. Love you Jo! Mwah!
And now I’m off to work on my YA fantasy novel. I feel motivated and eager again. I hoped that completing a small project would encourage me to complete The Big One, and it would seem that I was right.
I love being right.

Congrats Sarah!
I’m so curious about your novel! Do we get to know anything or is it hush hush until it’s completed?

I won?! … I won! I can’t believe it! I never win anything… and that includes the pencil give aways in 3rd grade and this is much much better than that! :) Thanks, Kimberly! Now, when you’re oober famous, I can say I won your first book giveaway. And then I can feel famous too.
And I am so glad this is sending you back to your novel… I can’t wait to read more of it! Good luck.

Yay for Sarah!
Okay, surely everyone else (besides wonderful Jo) was waiting to see if they WON before they bought the book. Of course NOW we can flock there in droves to fight over our personal copies. (Or keep carefully counting our pennies until it seems prudent to do so, all the while WISHING we were reading more Kim every day and dreaming of said purchase.)
Be patient, it will sell…
And so will your novel! Hooray for more motivation! Go, Kim!

I want one. I wonder how I can brown-nose the author.

Working on a small project to motivate you to work on a big one? I’m totally doing that, too! I just finished a draft for an essay contest a friend has been bugging me to enter in the hopes that priming the writing pump will get me excited to do the three chapter rewrite I’ve been avoiding. I totally relate because now I actually feel like doing it. Yay!

Good job on your motivating yourself!
Trying not to be jealous of Sarah. (I’m finding that reading her blog is helping; she IS pretty terrific, seems like! I will be adding her to my RSS reader.)

Congrats Sarah, and I can’t wait to get mine. Sarah may get hers first of course as I’m living in the UK. Maybe I should move. Now get on with that book young lady. :D

Yay, Sarah. Congratulations. (Brillig says, with bitterness and uncontrolled envy. Grrrrr.)
(I’m kidding people. I’m sure Sarah’s a very nice person. Still, she won what I wanted. And that, unfortunately, makes me growl a bit.)
:-D

Okay, don’t look now, but did you know that on blurb it says that you, the author, are from “Vanada”? Cool, yo. I’ve never been to Vanada…

Ah… I love being right :D So glad you’ve got some inspiration to move forward again! :)

Brillig, Vanada…Vanada? Who hasn’t been? First no book for you and now this! I love Vanada.
Nextly I would like to say exactly all of what Charrette said. Except she said it, but I don’t want to be left out of commenting so I’m going to say
DITTO! Cause I’m old school like that.
