Vintage Loveliness
by Kym on September 19, 2008
I’m not big on give aways in general, I’ll admit. Sour grapes might be a contributing factor as I’ve had a 30 year losing streak to reckon with in my online dealings (recently broken, by the way! I’ve won two books in the last couple weeks – but I’ll brag about them later).
However, when a sweet blogger and creative genius contacted me and offered me a necklace as a birthday gift/giveaway prelude, I jumped at the chance. Well, not so much jumped as bounced up and down on the couch, making the girls giggle and imitate me delightedly.
A few (excruiatingly long) weeks later, a wee little package arrived in the mail. I started grinning before I even opened it, because I’d seen a picture of my “loot.”
Better in person, my friends. Oh so much better in person. It’s my new favourite accessory and I get envy tinged compliments on it frequently.
Now for the giveaway bit. If you click here, then come back and leave a comment telling me what your favourite piece is, a randomly selected winner will receive the same necklace I did. For the men folk in the crowd, now is a good time to begin your Christmas shopping. Stifle the groans please, I know it’s only September. And no, I’m not the sort who starts Christmas shopping in January or anything, but with creative and beautiful pieces like this on offer, I’m guessing this fall will have Erin quite busy.
You can also visit Erin at her smile inducing blog The Vintage Pearl.
The contest will remain open till Midnight on Monday. Because I’m super nice like that. And alliteration makes me snigger.

Ooh! I get to be first!
I love the diamond name pendant, everything is just so gorgeous. Whimsical, but still elegant.
Etsy is a very dangerous site for me. I love everything on it!

I’m loving her stuff! So awesome! I think my favorite is the small square initials. I’m a fairly minimalist when it comes to jewelry… and I’ve always liked the mother’s necklaces and rings… but they are just too much for me. But the initial necklace with the kiddos initials? That would be perfect! In fact… I may just have to pass that info along to my wonderful hubby…

I love the initial on a chain and the Guardian Angel Necklace. Her pieces really are beautiful!

I love all of it! My favourites would have to be the rectangle names on a chain and also the circle of love. Beautiful!

Well, I actually like the birdie necklace best, but I also like the “Love you to the Moon and back” necklace. Very cute….
Now, pick me. Pretend it’s random, if you must…

I kind of like the initial squares necklace, or the pearl ring, or the apple for teacher (because my closest girlfriends are teachers). I want to win!

Lovely stuff truly . . . my favourite is one that’s not listed in her site itself, but is pictured at the top right corner of the page (the flower pendent with “Eden” on it) . . . but I also think that “Love Birds” is cute too! And Erin, if you’re reading this, beautiful work! :)

I totally am not a link clicker… But I saw your cute birdy and had to.
I love the lucky charm, and the wish one… But really, it’s alllll gorgeous.

How cute! I like the love birds and the diamond name necklace. I’m not usually into the name stuff, but I like that one.
by Memarie Lane on September 20, 2008 at 3:11 am. #
The “out on a limb” is my fav, but all her stuff is great!
by Becky on September 20, 2008 at 8:53 am. #
I love it all! Cool stuff! I like the one you’re offering and also the “I love you to the moon and Back” one. Pretty! Fun giveaway, Kim!

I like the id bracelet – it would look sooo cute on Ashlyn, she love’s bracelets. I also like the petite flower necklace. It’s all cute though, too many to pick just one!

Hey lady! I go away for a while and come back to all this WordPress craziness. What’s up?? I love it!!
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that necklace. I too, have an issue with giveaways. I worked in the Promotions Department of a radio station for years and gave away Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in prizes, but I have never won ANYTHING. Like, NOTHING. Hint hint no pressure… It’s not like you couldn’t RIG the contest or anything so that I would win… hint hint no pressure.
I have issues…
LOVE the necklace and LOVE everything at The Vintage Pearl, but if I had to choose my favourite it would probably be the Circle of Love. Gorgeous. I really need to start blogging friendships with some of the talented Etsy people… then maybe they’d send me some awesome stuff too.
Is that shallow and materialistic???
Anyway… missed you!
WAIT A MINUTE… just reading through your comments… which drew my attention to “I Love You to the Moon and Back”. I LOVE IT. I MUST get that for Csilla… it’s something I say to her every night before bed. LOVE IT!!!

I LOVE the petite flower. I think my little girl needs one…
by Jen on September 20, 2008 at 10:14 am. #
Oh dear. Is it wrong to covet your necklace so? Because I love that little birdy. (I also like the lucky necklace. Too cute.)
by Lisa Milton on September 20, 2008 at 10:29 am. #
What a cute shop! I like the square name necklace and the birdy necklace is super cute, too!
by Jessica on September 20, 2008 at 12:44 pm. #
I love the one you got, Out on a Limb. I also love the square initials and the “Make it Work” one. (I don’t much care about Project Runway, but the necklace and the idea are way cool!)
I usually only like contests if there’s skill involved. But I guess clicking and commenting is a skill…
I had a really bad day yesterday. I need a prize. (hint, hint) :)
by charrette on September 20, 2008 at 3:12 pm. #
Oh, yeah and that pearl ring. Need that too. :)
by charrette on September 20, 2008 at 3:12 pm. #
I am so torn!!! the piece on the first page…Eden….well, that’s pretty self explanatory. The other, I love you to the moon and back…that is what my kidlets fairy~godmother says to them all the time…and we say it to eachother…my kindred soul sista and I.
If I had to choose only on though I would *love you to the moon and back*~you know me and the moon *grin* If we sell our house and she still has that I think I might have to make it mine!! I positively glowing at the thought~
so odd that I would see to pieces that so intimately relate to my life…..thanks for the link Kim dear…..how was the wedding by the way??
by Jenn on September 20, 2008 at 5:09 pm. #
So hard to choose. I love them all. I would choose either the bird like you have or the circle of love. Just lovely all of them.
by Tonya on September 20, 2008 at 8:33 pm. #
Those are pretty awesome! I have to admit I’m torn between the ginormous looking pearl ring in the header (which I didn’t see on the pages you can scroll through), the “I Love you to the Moon and Back” moon-shaped pendant and the “Lucky” one with the four-leafed clover. :)
by KieraAnne on September 20, 2008 at 10:13 pm. #
So many beauties to look at and covet! I want the love birds necklace and the diamond name necklace. I also love what you got. Husband is getting a link to this web page in his e-mail tonight :-)
by GrumpyAngel on September 20, 2008 at 11:50 pm. #
Oh how I love the pearl ring. And the initial necklace. Great stuff! And I’ll be quite the gracious winner, thank you very much! (I’m being hopeful)

I really like the little bracelet. It would make such a fab prezzie for someone. And your necklace is adorable. :D
by Jo Beaufoix on September 21, 2008 at 9:49 am. #
My favourite is “out on a limb” — my second favourite is “circle of love”.

I love the diamond pearl necklace! SO FUN!

the moon one was cool. wow.
by hollydolly on September 21, 2008 at 3:47 pm. #
Oh, wow, that’s such cute stuff. I’ve got my mom’s birthday all figured out for next year! I’m going with the circle of love, and having my husband and kids names put on. I hope I win!
by Josi on September 21, 2008 at 4:21 pm. #
Yeah I am jealous of you for sure!
I like the initial necklace.
by An Ordinary Mom on September 21, 2008 at 8:00 pm. #
Her stuff is sooooo beautiful! I particularly love the Guardian Angel necklace. I think it’s lovely. :)
by Razzler on September 22, 2008 at 7:34 am. #
I like the “make it work” one. That is a great place. Thanks for the link and the chance.
by Jan on September 22, 2008 at 8:14 am. #
Has it been so long since I visited? The blog look has changed and your winning stuff and giving stuff away! Am I in the right place? Cause that is just insane!
by Dapoppins on September 22, 2008 at 9:17 am. #
No question–all of them! I have The intage Pearl saved on my etsy faves! I am jonesing over the guardian angel one though.
Like the new digs. :)
by Shannon on September 22, 2008 at 9:31 am. #
The diamond name necklace, for sure!
by Eowyn on September 22, 2008 at 10:36 am. #
I adore the lucky charm necklace! Very cute stuff. I think I would be great at advertising it around my neck! :-)
by kelly on September 22, 2008 at 10:57 am. #
It’s all beautiful…I do like the wishing on a star necklace best but then the lovebird one is a close second.
by leendaluu on September 22, 2008 at 11:16 am. #
This is a great Etsy shop you sent me to, so thanks!!!
I really love the Guardian Angel piece. I think I’ll be getting that for my sister’s upcoming birthday so she knows someone is looking out for her. She lost her son to bone cance in February and needs some pretty little angel looking out for her heart.
by Catootes on September 22, 2008 at 2:14 pm. #
I love that initials on a chain necklace. I’m considering that for my mom.
by Jaina on September 22, 2008 at 2:28 pm. #
While I would love to get our names engraved on a necklace and then force my husband to wear it, I personally follor your preference. Out on a Limb, of course.
Could you email me? I have a question for you.
by Annie on September 22, 2008 at 3:09 pm. #
How about a pun? I am going to go Out on a Limb and let you know that I love the looks of that lovely little lark.

I like this girl’s style. What I liked the MOST was the pearl ring she had in her header. Apparently, she’s sold out of those at the moment–but that was a really cool ring!
(And you don’t have to enter me in any drawing. I’m good–I don’t need anything new no matter how cute it is!)
I’d like to know how she makes this stuff. Does she have a metal stamp or something? Does she work with a blowtorch? Sometimes the stuff I see on Etsy boggles my mind–how do they do it? And will they teach me how, too?
by wynne on September 22, 2008 at 8:46 pm. #
Erin’s work is lovely. That’s a beautiful piece!

I came across your site while I did a search on Google for bracelet godmother and your article on ge Loveliness – Temporary? Insanity was informative.
