Defenestrating Meaning

That’s right, I’m chucking it right out the window. All attempts at writing poignant and inspiring posts are about to cease. For the next 30 days, all my creative energies will be focused on my NaNoWriMo endeavor. I have 1667 words to write per day and I? Do not write on Sundays.
Questions regarding my sanity level can be addressed to my blog title. The question mark is starting to look a little bolder, don’t you think? Has a certain air of, shall we say, permanence about it?
Still, I rather like this blog and I’m not too keen on the idea of watching it shrivel up and die, so I figure I’ll keep it going. Post every other day or so. Something brief. Possibly inane. Possibly just one long shriek of tortured creativity seeking expression outside the confines of my wee little head.
Hard to say. I’m pretty easy going really.
I’m going to start by offering up the promised Before and After pictures. I figure we’ll start with that. A room by room tour of the mighty Kym taming the chaos of her existence (and no, I won’t be showing after-after pictures displaying what the kids have done to the first rooms while I worked on the next).
First stop? The kitchen. Yes, when you open our front door that’s where you find yourself. Being the shiftless slob I am, this has been, shall we say, problematic? Keeping the kitchen clean has never been an issue really because a) I never cared enough to work that hard at it and b) you couldn’t see it from the front entry or even the living room in our old place.
Here is what I was able to accomplish in the space of half an hour this morning. One mere half hour! And there are whole days where I don’t accomplish as much. So sad.
Apologies for not inserting the pictures directly – there were technical difficulties. And apologies for not making the rounds today – there were life difficulties. Tomorrow? Yes?

Didn’t look like too much of a mess in the first place, but good job!!
I LOVE having a clean kitchen and it only happens like once or twice a week. Except for the times I manage to keep it clean for a few days. It takes so little effort to maintain and I HATE that I still don’t maintain it. It reminds me a lot of keeping weight down. There are just a few simple things you have to do, but they are SO HARD. Why is not eating that brownie SO DANG HARD?

Yeah . . . I’m with Luisa on this one–I had to go through them twice to clue in as to which were the BEFORE shots. I’d be happy if my house looked like that all the time.

How sad is it that your before pics would look good as my after pics?
I think you should think about guest posters to keep your blog going while you are off in your writing frenzy…just a thought!

Fab clean up job. Wanna do my house? Pretty please. I’ll post for your for the whole month. You just have to buy the plane ticket. ;)
And I see you got a little word verification thingy. Have you tried Akismet for WP? It does the same job but without the verifier. It’s lovely….unless you were just wanting us to further cement your awesomeness in our brains by typing your name every time we comment. If that’s the case then carry on. :D

Gosh! Did you have to remind me it was NaNoWriMo tomorrow! I’m totally not ready. Oh wait, I’m splitting those 1667 words with my wife . . . she writes 1000 and I’ll work on getting the 667 done. We thought it would be less stressful this way. However, I’m not sure what we’re going to write about…. And I think I ate too much candy!
