Have You Ever…

…been so tired that on your way to brush your teeth you got a bit dizzy, misjudged things, and walked into a wall?

…hoped that it was exhaustion and not idiocy (or serious inner ear problems) causing the problem?

…curled up in bed with a new book you’re excited to read, only to wake up two hours later with your finger wedged into page two and a small puddle of drool forming beneath you?

…eaten healthy all day, drunk a gallon of water, worked out for half an hour and taken a long family walk in the evening? Only to down two ice cream sandwiches, two high calorie granola bars and a bowl of chips before bed? (sigh)

…contemplated finishing off the aforementioned ice cream sandwiches for breakfast the next day so they won’t be there to tempt you anymore?

…decided once and for all to leave the cobwebs in the house be and proudly point them out to houseguests as part of our master plan for Halloween decorating?

…considered putting aside the broom, mop, and other cleaning tools and clean the house with a fist full of garbage bags in hand instead? (I swear someone’s sneaking junk into our house at night when I’m not looking)

…prepared for a long weekend trip to visit family and realized you’re more concerned about what you’re going to arrange to have pop up on your blog while you’re gone than what you’re going to pack to wear?

…realized that really, it’s a sickness, and a weekend of computer detox won’t be the worst thing in the world?

And lastly…

…been so darn grateful for the sweet support of your online friends who read your whiney drivel (see last post) and resist (possible) urges to tell you to just get over yourself already? Appreciated the sweet comments, and the silent support, to such a degree that you know, just know, that blogging will likely be a part of your life for a very long time to come?

Happy weekend everyone. And thank you.

  2. Okay, I’ll answer them in order: Yes, yes, no, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Seriously. But those things never felt as humorous and downright pleasant as they sound here in your post! You’re a clever one.

  3. I would definitely finish off the ice cream sandwiches so they wouldn’t be tempting anymore. And I agree – blogging is much more important than packing. It’s more important than just about anything!

  6. I used to be so good at staying up reading. Lately though, I have found myself falling asleep repeatedly and unable to finish a page, let alone a chapter when I try to stay up late to read.
I hope you have a great weekend!

  7. your timing here is impeccable. while i don’t make walking into a walls a regular part of my day, i did just manage to walk into my half-wall about ten minutes ago. no excuse, really. i just took a long blink mid-stride, and whaddayaknow, there’s the wall. nice.

  8. Oh, sheeze. I hope you get some good sleep this weekend. I think it would help almost half of what you’ve got going on there. Maybe more.

  11. I hope you have a great weekend! And love, it’s not that you walked into the wall. The wall jumped out at you. They’re sneaky like that, you’ve got to watch them. ;)

  12. I’ve been doing that over-tired fuzzy headed and dizzy thing all week. I keep thinking I must look drunk to the on-looker. Luckily there are few looking on. And they’re too young to understand drunkeness :)

  15. Yes to all! So funny because so true. I took this week off from work so I could get “rejuvenated” because I was going through a really bad funk. I hope your weekend visiting with family will be fun for you. If not at least I’m sure you’ll come back with lots of material for blogging :-)

  25. The book one made me think of a memory. When I was a kid, I was supposed to read this book about Amelia Earhart. I put it off and had to read it the night before. I stayed up late and found myself half way under some furniture and had to go looking for the book! Good times!
