Less blogging has equated to more family time here at the Vanderhorst homestead. I’m feeling a fresh sense of wonder as I take time to watch my children play. I love their use of imagination, and their love of music, and today I captured a moment where both combined. Rather strangely, I’ll admit, my kids are also weird, but oh how very, very fortunate I feel to be the mother of such darling little girls…

Oh, and I’m adding in one more because it made me giggle…

I totally relate. Not because my own kids are like that. Because I feel like doing the same thing with the different foods I’m chopping and slicing for dinner.

They ARE darling and look!–I see bars of sunshine on your gorgeous floor! I once heard a loan officer tell a family who was buying a house here in California (they were moving from the midwest) that it was okay that the homes were more expensive here b/c you don’t need such a big house since you spend so much time outside. This would explain the wise expanse of floor space I see in homes in snow country. How cool!

My kids sometimes sing while they play. I think it’s lovely.
The other day #3 started singing to Baby B at to calm her down, and I found it very amusing that the song he chose was Darth Vader’s theme from Star Wars. Not the most comforting song, but it was the thought right?

They’re not weird. They’re kiddos! Mine play very much like that. Singing out playtime scenarios and talking in squeaky voices. I think it’s terribly cute!
