Now I’m not saying that I couldn’t handle having ugly kids. Heck, at one point in time I was one, so there’d be a certain poetic justice to it. Still, when I look at my daughters I can’t help beaming just the weest little bit. They’re gorgeous, after all. And while I know that God had more of a hand in their creation than I did, sometimes I strut a bit and think, yeah, I helped make them. I rock.
Hey, let the Ugly Duckling enjoy a little vicarious beauty, okay?

Oh, my gosh, I have an ugly complex that I inherited from my mother and have carried throughout my life. I am so RELIEVED to have beautiful children — stunningly beautiful children — so I know they won’t have to go through life with that burden. And it feels like a different kind of poetic justice. Like…see? I can’t be ALL bad…Look at these gorgeous children that have sprung from my genes!
Your girls are gorgeous. I agree. And I think their mother is beautiful too!

They ARE lovely, and I’m sure it’s no mistake in natural laws. The apple usually doesn’t fall far from the tree. :)

Super cute. They really are beautiful, just like their mom!
I know how you feel about feeling uglyWhen I was really young (maybe 0-6 years) I was really ugly (IMO). After that I got to be just normal. Those are good years to be ugly because you don’t care AT ALL. Fourteen year old acne and crooked teeth had me feeling ugly again, and that was NO GOOD.
