And Today . . .

. . . all is sweetness and light. Woke up smiling instead of groaning. Rolled out of bed instead of crawled. Cranked up the happy music and cleaned and baked. The smell of banana bread is permeating the air, the girls are painting and making a grand, giggle inspiring mess at the dining room table.
Yesterday at this time I was holding back sobs, feeling defeated and worthless. Today, that seems a fuzzy edged memory of a long ago self. I find myself humming the old song, “What a Difference a Day Makes.” And what a difference the sweet comments I received yesterday made. Not exactly an easy post to comment on. Nothing more than messy emotional spewing. But now I feel like the toxins have been purged from the wound and maybe, just maybe, now I can heal.
But no. Enough of deep thoughts and pondering. Today is a day to live. And smile.

chick! why you was so sad? i’m going to have to go back in time, kick my own butt, and come back a week early to find out. or, i could just go back and read backwards. i will. i will do that. but now it is 1:20. so tomorrow is the day i will do that, in that you seem happy now.
don’t let me hear about you not bein’ happy. or the butt i add to the kick pile will be yours! (okay, i wouldn’t actually kick yer butt for bein’ sad. it just seemed potentially funny and/or uplifting in that pseudo-amusing way that isn’t actually amusing. i did try.)
