Intentional Happiness: Nature Edition
by Kym on July 22, 2010
Have you seen what beauty there is to be seen?
In windswept meadows with crunchy brown grasses and scraggled wild flowers?
In the fixated attention of a child, slowly unpeeling the world with her eyes and discovering the wonder in it?
In racing the wind and never caring whether you win or not?
In immersing yourself in the greenness of the green and blueness of the blue and knowing, just somehow knowing, that this sort of beauty isn’t accidental?
And in realizing that you can fill yourself to overflowing with such beauties and let them wash the ugliness far, far away. That there is a cure for the empty, hollow place inside you that you keep filling with the wrong things. You’ve been looking for the right thing, the right thought, the right food, the right experience, when all along it’s been all around you. Beauty. Just waiting to fill you up.

Kim, are you me? Because lately you sound just like me. Or at least you are addressing the very issues I am having, except you are sort of resolving them or giving exceptional insight.
I think you are wonderful.

And sorry I didn’t mention how lovely and poetic this post is (again) and how awesome the pictures are (again). They are.

What a beautifully worded post with equally beautiful pictures! I especially love the first photo. Very, very engaging.

Eloquent.
Simple.
Beautiful.
Thank you.
–Off to fill up on some beauty, and not be derailed by filling up on any other self-defeating distractions!

Beauty, just waiting to fill you up.
Yes! I crave a quiet day in the woods. The sounds and sights of my children running and playing without whining and fighting. The feel of the breeze pushing through the leaves and reaching my skin. Ahhh. Sigh. Glorious.
I love your !!! today and I really, really needed it.

There is so much beauty in your words. Lines like this, “In immersing yourself in the greenness of the green and blueness of the blue and knowing, just somehow knowing, that this sort of beauty isn’t accidental?” are just overflowing in it.
And that first photograph…I could almost feel the wind blowing. Beautiful.

This is awesome. I love nature, that’s why I walk everywhere. There is something wonderful about letting beauty overwhelm the senses.

That first photograph is breathtaking. Once a year here in Utah we get these wild sunflowers that grow all over the place and there are fields of them. I always have to grab my camera and go shooting. Thank heavens for the beauty of the earth!

I rediscovered today how much happiness can come through being in nature. I hate how easily I forget that!

Beauty. I don’t think I have a problem with seeing beauty, my problem is finding the inner calm to fully appreciate it before running off to the next thought in my head.

Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Its such as you learn my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, such as you wrote the book in it or something. I feel that you could do with some percent to power the message house a bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.
