32
by Kym on August 19, 2010
32 is BORING. Almost as boring as 31. 30 was a spectacular milestone and I’m looking forward to 33, because there’s just something spiffy about doubled digits like that. 35 will be party time because being abysmally horrible at math I’ve always loved how easy it is to count by 5′s and 10′s and 35 looks special somehow.
But 32? Piff. That’s what I say.
All I want for my birthday is for you to leave a comment. Yup. Even if you normally don’t. Oh, and I also want a new dishwasher. And maybe some Carey Grant movies. Ooo…and one of those antique apothecary cabinets, I’ve always wanted one of those…
p.s. I’m off for a two week roadtrip to visit family in the neighbouring province. Please enjoy the gentle buzz of radio silence in my absence. Mwah!

Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a lovely trip! Thirty two is quite good, but thirty three is the best because you’re a third of a century old (at 33 and 4 months). I meant to blog on my 33 and 4 month birthday but I forgot.

Yay for Happy Birthday!
I love Kim.
I love Kim.
Kim’s the sweetest girl there is.
I love Kim!
(I sang this in my head. Too bad you can’t hear it!)

Happy Birthday! We’re getting too old huh! I wish I was celebrating my birthday tomorrow by visiting family, but they’re all too far way darn it. Instead we’re going out to dinner with friends (southern BBQ, yummy!) and probably watching a movie. Congrats and make sure you eat some yummy cake!

I am so glad to know you! Happy birthday sweet friend. And I am sending you The Philadelphia Story telepathically.

Happy Birthday!!! I’ve got the big 30 coming up in the spring…
And seriously. If anyone can make 32 NOT boring, it’s you.

Haaaaaaappy birthday! Hope it’s a great one!!
The mathematician in me wants to tell you that 32 is 2^5. That is kind of cool, right?

Happy birthday! I turned 32 in May. And I was thrilled to turn 30, but now as I start heading towards 40, I am freaked out!

So for your Happy Birthday wish, I’ll remind you of my favorite Carey Grant movie (and give you permission to watch it until it’s memorized) “The Philadelphia Story.” My fave.
(ALso, did I ever tell you? I skipped 32. Not on purpose, but that year whenever anyone asked me how old I was, “33″ just came out. So I was 33 for 2 years. Two good years. And, 35 was the best ever. Just saying.) XOXOXO

Happiest of Birthdays to one of the very finest women I’ve ever known. I literally could sing your praises all day long because there is so much about you that I love. Though it’s not the most exciting birthday to be had, I hope you have a wonderful one that exceeds your expectations. I love you, Kim. Truly and always. *hugs*

Happy Birthday! I hope it’s the best ever. You bring so many smiles to others, it’s only fair you have a day full of smiles for you. :)
Enjoy your trip! You will be missed.

MWah! to you, too! You’re right–there’s no panache to 32. I hope you get your dishwasher. Or Cary Grant movies. Or cabinets. Or all of them. :)

Happy Birthday you young girl you! I find every birthday for me to be somewhat of a letdown. Maybe I need to try having a birthday party or something next year when I turn 38!

Happy Birthday!
Are you talking about one of those cabinets with all the little drawers?

Happy, Happy Birthday, Kimberly Dear! *Sings the whole primary song.* Hee! You’re the best.

Happy Happy birthday, sweet Kim!!! Hope your day is magical in every way.
That said, most birthdays for me pass in a state of semi-depression funk, wishing for the day to just end. People forget to call, send cards, text, etc. I feel forgotten and trite. Shallow of me, isn’t it?
Enjoy your blissful 2 weeks away, that means no house cleaning, right? Soak it up and unwind. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday!! Sorry it’s boring this year. I turn 30 in a few months and am glad to hear that it will be spectacular. That’s a money-back guarantee, right?
Right???

Happy birthday, bon anniversaire, feliz cumpleanos!
33 is kind of fun . . . but once I hit 25, I never had a year I didn’t like. Every year I age, I feel a little closer to synching my body and my spirit, which I’m worried is actually closer to 66 than 33!

Er is er een jarig, hoera hoera, dat kun je wel zien dat is zij…
Happy birthday! And you’ve got a great taste in men I see: the one and only Cary Grant. I love his films and have some great ones. Even a very very old English one from 1936! But my favourites must be ‘Charade’ and ‘Operation Petticoat’.
PS: the first line? Someone is having a birthday, hurray hurray and you can see it’s you!

Happy Birthday!!! I didn’t realize we were dishwasher-less sisters! We can commiserate about hand-washing together sometime! (Or not. In fact, it’s probably best to forget about it or I might explode.) : )

I never realized how close in age we are– literally only weeks apart. Maybe we really were switched at birth. Spooookeeee.
Oh, and Happy birthday! :)

Happy Birthday! My mom was 32 when she had me, so I always think of that as The Mom age. *laughs* I don’t comment often enough, and I haven’t been blogging much either, but I do always read and I think you are the bees knees. <3

Happy Happy Birthday!
count your blessings and each number as they get to you… before you know it, you’ll be thinking 42 is boring!!
by Sherri on August 20, 2010 at 8:45 am. #
Happy birthday, my dearest Kim!
I chuckled as I read this post, because I have some of the same feelings about numbers. When I was a kid I was always relieved when I became “even” again.
Have fun on your trip!

Boring can be good at times. At least you are not turning threatening 39. Happy BDay!

Happy Birthday, Miss Wonderful and Lovely Kim! Personally, I think 32 is a pretty cool number ;)
Enjoy your trip to the fullest and come back with lots of stories!

Oh no, I’m late, late, late. Happy Belated Birthday! :) Hope it was great.
by Lesa on August 23, 2010 at 7:48 am. #
I am so, so, so late! Happy Birthday!
I’m gonna try to get back into this blogging thing… just seems like craziness surrounds me right now!!
by Melissa on August 25, 2010 at 9:02 am. #
I am very late, but happy birthday!
Also, I kind of like 32. It’s 2 to the 5th, which is the sort of thing that number people and computer programmers such as myself appreciate. You may have to take my word on this, but 32 is a cool number. 34, which I currently am? Not so cool.
by Amber on August 25, 2010 at 8:16 pm. #
I’m way late because I was on vacation too… hope you had a fabulous birthday and a lovely trip. :)
by Petra on August 27, 2010 at 2:58 pm. #
if I were there I’d bring you chocolate. (the raw organic kind that qualifies as a super food thus super healthy and very good to eat copious amounts of) i’d steal you away from your tribe of giggles and bring you galavanting across the country side to dine somewhere lovely. And if, as in the past, there is no where in the vicinity to dine, I would make a picnic so splendid you would think, from that moment on, that 32 was the best year yet!
but since I’m here and your there I will send you all the love I can possibly pack into a comment,
lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove….I would add more but the rice is boiling and my people keep interrupting me:)
miss you!

I’m so glad you were born!!!
Happy belated birthday, sweet friend. I may be slow, but I always come ’round :)
I hope your trip is GOOD.

It’s a little late, but Happy Birthday.
And to make 33 even more fun and exciting, next December you can have a 33 1/3 party. Or a 1/3 century party, or however you want to classify it.
And in 10 years, when you turn 42, they give you the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Bring a towel!
