So apart from convalescing and dealing with various baby bodily fluids while missing out on sleep, I spend a lot of time just staring at her little face. Birth stories. Women seem to feel a compulsion to share them. And while the men-folk in our lives might think the driving force behind that compulsion is a sadistic desire to torture them, I think it really comes down to a need to be understood. To have what we’ve suffered acknowledged by the only people who can truly commiserate (i.e. other mothers).
Of course, it’s also fun to compete to see who suffered the most.

Well, I thought about phoning Eowyn and having her transcribe all the gory details here for you, but all my careful planning lacked in the phone card department. Our cell phone bill is going to be astronomical. But it was totally worth it to share the news of sweet Claira. Isn’t she purdy?

We got the call at about 10:00 pm MST from Neil that Claira is here!
Everything went well. It was actually Faramir doing all the talking to Neil. She is 6 lbs 8 oz, which is a good size.
